People across Westchester County hit the hardware stores Saturday, buying supplies in preparation for what is expected to be a cold, windy and possibly snowy weekend.
Although winter does not officially begin until Dec. 21, items like bags of salt, heaters, boilers and window insulation kits were flying off the shelves in stores from Yonkers to White Plains.
Kevin Dellner, an employee at Brewer?s hardware store in Mamaroneck, says that in order to stay warm through the winter, people should keep windows sealed, put air conditioners away, turn up the furnace and dress warmly.
