A court martial is underway at West Point for alleged sexual assaults against a fellow cadet.
The court martial of Cadet Lukas Saul, from Ithaca, began at West Point Wednesday morning.
He is accused of sexually assaulting another cadet.
Saul is charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

If convicted, Saul could face life in prison in addition to dismissal from the Army and forfeiture of pay.
The court martial comes less than two weeks after a Department of Defense report showed an increase in reported sexual assaults at the nation's military academies.
Saul's court martial is the first for a cadet since 2012. It is expected to last through the end of the week.
