Weekend memorials planned for teen killed in Mount Vernon stabbing

Green was killed and another teen was injured at the citywide celebration for the Mount Vernon boys basketball team.

Two memorials are set for this weekend in remembrance of Kayla Green, the 16-year-old girl who was fatally stabbed last week in Mount Vernon.
A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Friday night along Harper Avenue in the Bronx at 7 p.m.
A "Nine-Night" memorial will be held Sunday in Mount Vernon at the Elegant Loft on East Sanford Boulevard beginning at 6 p.m.
Green was killed and another teen was injured at the citywide celebration for the Mount Vernon boys basketball team.
A 15-year-old has been charged with manslaughter in Green's death.
