A wintry mix is on tap for the Hudson Valley and it could make for a messy morning commute to kick off the work week.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess and Rockland counties through 1 p.m. Monday.
News 12 meteorologists say to expect a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain toward daybreak.. The precipitation will move out of the area by the afternoon, but the cold conditions could make for icy roads during the morning rush. Drivers are urged to use caution.
The rest of the week is expected to see a mix of sun and clouds. The blast of cold stays around for Tuesday, when highs will reach only 24 degrees. Wednesday will see highs near 30.
