Meteorologist Matt Hammer taking weather on the road, visiting his old friends, the New York Boulders. He is in Pomona this morning at Boulder Stadium that I hope at some point during the morning, we get to see that pitch from last year. Oh, we're gonna see that right off the bat. First of all though, I mean, we're here at Clover Stadium, gorgeous Clover Stadium. We have actually some drone video uh, from last year, if you remember, I mean, right here in the heart of Pomona, just a great place to be to spend some time with the family, great family atmosphere here if you've never been. And not only that, the Boulders are off to one of their best starts ever. Well into first place in the eastern division of the frontier league and they're 19 and nine right now just playing awesome baseball and you can see it right here in the heart of the Hudson Valley. And not only that, they have great events coming up this Father's Day weekend. It's actually Irish Heritage night tomorrow night and there actually is a beach bash. They're calling it on Sunday where after the game on Sunday you can come down with dad, the whole family have a catch on the field, get player autographs, a great atmosphere here. We'll be talking with Sean Riley, the founder of the boulders. Coming up a little bit later on this morning, we have some other things that are fun that are planned for later on. Here is the first pitch from last year. If you don't remember that had to get that in. Called for it. And, uh, yeah, we're just gonna blame Lisa for having me show this again, but I mean, I didn't do a bad job not doing that again today. But, uh, we are looking at a day today where they do have a game scheduled this evening. We have storms that we're keeping an eye on as well and there is a close call on whether or not they will be able to play the game here at Clover Stadium this evening. I'll help Sean kind of deal with that as we go throughout the day.

It gets one. Meteorologist. Matt Hammer gets one too. I don't know who's happier this morning, but I don't know. I think it's a win, win for both, win, win for both, but Matt's got a glove and a ball so he might have one up on le at least he needs to get some violins or ows or something next, I guess. Maybe. Uh huh. You know, Lisa says she is a great place to visit. So do I, I mean, this is just an amazing spot right in our backyard in Pomona Clover Stadium. We obviously had a lot of fun with the boulders last year. If you don't remember, I was lucky enough to throw out the first pitch. Lisa Tower were by my side supporting me the whole way. It was a lot of fun here at the stadium last year. You're looking at that first pitch. Uh, right now you would not be looking at the first pitch. It was a terrible one. Thankfully, I got that one over the plate. Yeah, it was a little bit of a lob, but so much fun here and just a reminder that this is such a family friendly environment here at Clover Stadium. And not only that, the team is off to one of their best starts ever. 19 and nine right now it's 19 wins, only nine losses and they are sitting atop of first place in their division in the frontier league. Just amazing stuff. So, not only can you come down here, have fun. Watch great baseball. There's also mini golf, which we'll check out a little bit later on. The batting cage is so much more to check out. Uh, if you've never been and you can come down this weekend too. There's Irish Heritage night tomorrow night and there's a Father's Day beach bash on Sunday, which basically will be a day where you come down with dad or whoever watch the game. You can come down on the field after the game. Have a catch with dad. What's better than that?

Meteorologist, Matt Hammer is taking weather on the road for us today. Oh, he loves that jersey. Good reason for it. He is just fitting right in with our friends back over at the boulders. Yeah, when they make you a jersey you just got to wear it over and over again. The number 12 and the colors too. Matt blue and white. I mean, the boulders know how to do it. I know they do news 12 style almost it seems like. Uh, yeah, you know, we had a lot of fun with the boulders last year getting right back involved in the mix. They're in the f, in first place right now playing some of their best baseball pretty much ever in terms of getting off to just a hot start this year. They're 19 and nine. You can see from a top Clover stadium. Just a beautiful place to bring the entire family a lot of fun for pretty much everyone of all ages and they have some fun events coming up this weekend. Now, there is a game scheduled for this evening TBD. You want to see how the storms play a role in that, maybe. So you want to check out the Boulder social media pages throughout the day if you plan on coming down here for the game this evening, but the weekend events will be just fine as we take a look at right now. Yeah, I might have thrown that first pitch if you remember last year and did a heck of a job if you ask me. But uh we were, we had the whole team down here. It was so much fun and, yeah, just make sure at some point you visit, what is just one of the, of the best spots to come enjoy a baseball game here in the Lower Hudson Valley. This.

A great day there. A great day here too. Meteorologist, Matt Hammer has found his happy on the road today with the New York Boulders over at Clover Stadium. Good morning. Yeah. Hey Tara. So you know, Boulder is off to one of their best starts ever. And the manager behind it all with me right now. TJ Stanton, thanks for joining us this morning. I know you guys just coming back in from Ottawa. It was kind of a long trip. They encountered some storms that we're looking at for later on today. But talk to me a little bit about just what people can expect when they come down here, especially on top of that. Now that you're playing amazing baseball. Well, yeah, yeah. So we have a, we have a great group, uh, exciting group of players, super talented and they can expect that every night they catch us. Uh, it's gonna be a competitive game and we have a great chance of winning and they can root for a winner because uh just like this last bus ride, it was a long one, but it was a happy bus ride cause we just came off of victory and we're looking to keep it going and I'm sure you will keep it going. And, you know, we've been talking about how much there is to not only just watch a baseball game, but there's so much more for the fans to get involved kids to get involved. And you can almost feel like part of the team in here. This, I didn't even know this existed until this year, but this is a batting cage area, right where the fans can come in and enjoy taking some swings during the game. Right. That's exactly it. So our locker room attaches directly into the indoor, uh, batting cages here and we use this all pregame, uh for our pregame practice. And by the time we step out and go into the game, fans can filter in and get some hacks in as well. Uh We have great food options, great beer options. Uh, there's a lot of, a lot of fun to be had and when fans leave the ballpark here, what do you want them to take away from a boulders experience? Uh, I like to think that they enjoyed, um, the, the, the, the, the competition on the field and the, the effort that the players made. And typically, you know, we, we have huge fireworks shows. We, we have the train going around the mini golf. There's a lot of other options to fill in, maybe some, uh, pitching changes in that time, but try to also watch them play amazing baseball TJ. But summer you'll have over at the ballpark. I mean, a staple of summer. Of course, meteorologist, Matt Hammer has taken weather on the road today. He's back with his friends, the New York Boulders. I think this is like the contract extension from last year. Right. Matt, that's what job Matt they had you back. That's exactly why I'm here. It is all about the contract extension after the first pitch last year. You know, we've been in discussions throughout the entire off season and now about to sign me. Right, Sean, I think we're close to an agreement. We're close. I might need a little bit more practice, but Sean Riley president GM just, you do a little bit of everything here to help keep this running here. And, you know, New York Boulders, baseball is always fun. But how does it feel to be off to an incredible start this year and sitting atop the division right now? Well, it feels nice. I mean, the fact fans love it. This is one of the best starts in our franchise history and the fans have really responded. We have record crowds and, uh, I go around even today I picked up laundry for the visiting team and people in the hotel said, hey, the Boulders are in first place. So it's pretty great. It feels good. It's nice being the talk of the town. Right. And so for those who haven't been down, just explain briefly the boulders experience. What, what is, what are the boulders all about? Well, you know, we, of course, we're professional baseball and we want to be first place to win the championship. But really, we're more than that, the Boulders experience is affordable family entertainment. So when you come to a Boulders game, it's $59 for a family of four, you can be home in 20 minutes at the game. We have mini golf playground train. It's more of a kids experience, a family experience and the baseball is a bonus and, and a good baseball, really a bonus. And you guys do a lot inside the stadium, but a lot outside the stadium as well, talk a little bit about how much the boulder means boulders means to the community and how you guys get involved outside of the stadium. Well, it's important to be a part of our local community. We live here and the players are part of the community. So we support over 300 charities every year. And at last count, Matt, I think we had donated over $2 million in revenue hop teams. Uh charity groups raise money and such. So, so Julie it's integrated, you know, the boulders. We love them, but they love us and it's a great, great teamwork and I know we're looking ahead to maybe some storms later on today, optimistic about the night to time game tonight. But talk a little about the events coming up this weekend. Well, this weekend is Little League night. Back to communities. We have 20 little leagues from the Hudson Valley coming. So we'll probably start the game tonight even though it's a little late. And then tomorrow we have our big Irish Heritage Day, which is one of our big days. We have the Irish National baseball team playing the FDNY. Then we have uh some Irish music and the Boulders game and green fireworks. And then Sunday is Father's Day catch on the field, dads and their kids, which is always very popular and player autographs too. Autographs. What a unique situation. A lot of access here, which I think is really cool too. So, thanks for joining us this morning.
