Wear Orange Weekend: Advocates, city leaders stress need for gun violence prevention around Hudson Valley

Friday marked the start of "Wear Orange Weekend." It is an annual call to end gun violence around the country and also honor the victims and survivors of gun violence. Events happened around the Hudson Valley to do just that.
In Mount Vernon, the "Unite to End Gun Violence" event took place at the Doles Center Friday afternoon.
Multiple entities gathered on Friday night at Nyack Memorial Park to pay tribute to everyone who has been impacted by gun violence.
The Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge will be illuminated in orange to commemorate the weekend of remembrance and activism.
