A Dutchess County mom is searching for her son who she says he was taken out of state and has been missing for weeks.

Michael San Giacomo, 35, is developmentally disabled, according to his mom, Deborah San Giacomo.

He is believed to be in the Lebanon, Pennsylvania, area.

His mother says someone he knew from an AA meeting took him from Beacon on July 4 to a faith-based rehabilitation center in Pennsylvania called U-Turn for Christ, and that no one has seen or heard from him since.

“My concern is that my son is not capable of realizing and recognizing a dangerous situation with people or people that would do something that’s not in his best interest,” says Deborah San Giacomo.

She says her son was staying in her apartment in Beacon after the trailer he was living in burned down in Goshen in June.

A representative for U-Turn tells News 12 that Michael San Giacomo left the facility on Aug. 23 after allegedly learning his family was coming to get him.

“He was here for six weeks,” says Pastor Keith Maxcy. “We helped him off the street. He was doing really well and was hiding from his family. He left as soon as he thought his mom was coming.”

Deborah San Giacomo says she’s unaware of any reason her son would be fearful to come home and hired a Newburgh-based private security group, LPI, to aid in finding him.

“I fear it’s been a month that he’s been missing, and he has no knowledge of how to contact me. No money, food or any friends in that area,” says Deborah San Giacomo.
Michael’s brother, David Tlumac, has been in Pennsylvania searching for him since Monday.

“Just walking the streets day and night, putting up posters and flyers, and talking to people.

I’m stopping by shelters, food banks and talking to residents and local authorities,” says Tlumac.

Michael San Giacomo is described as 5 feet, 9 inches with dirty blond hair and weighs 180 pounds.

His family says he might not have identification on him. “We love him so much,” said Deborah San Giacomo.

“Not being in our lives, and not knowing where he is, is horrifying and devastating.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Lebanon, Pennsylvania police at 717-272-6611 or LPI Security Group at 845-241-3321.
