Crews are continuing to repair two water main breaks that left some residents in New Rochelle and Eastchester with flooded lawns and brown water.
A representative for United Water says an 8-inch water main break on Weyman Avenue in New Rochelle and another water main break on Mill Road in Eastchester are to blame.
New Rochelle police say the company increased pressure on a water line, which caused the pipes to burst.
United Water says the brown coloring in the water is just a disturbance of minerals and is safe to drink.
No boil-water advisory has been put into effect.
According to its website, United Water serves nearly 150,000 people in southern Westchester County.
