A boil water advisory is in effect for about 150,000 people in several Sound Shore communities.
The advisory was issued Tuesday night as the New York City Department of Environmental Protection performs scheduled maintenance on its chlorination system.
The advisory is affecting residents along United Water Rate District 1 in Bronxville, Eastchester, New Rochelle, Tuckahoe, the town of Pelham, the village of Pelham and Pelham Manor.
The boil water advisory is a precaution and expires at midnight.
