Warwick, Minisink investigate report of racist incident at game aimed toward female soccer player

Two Orange County school districts are investigating an incident at a girls varsity soccer game involving racist remarks allegedly made toward a Black player by one or more student spectators in the stands.
News 12 is told a female goalie from Minisink High School was seen crying on the field last Thursday during the game against Warwick at Sandfordville Elementary School after hearing the hurtful remarks.
News 12 is told the remarks were allegedly made by at least one male soccer player from Warwick who was watching the game.
Warwick Valley School Superintendent Dr. David Leach released a statement on Friday.
"Our investigation has not confirmed any racial comments were made, however, it appears that a student spectator or spectators were insubordinate and directed inappropriate language toward players and an official, which are violations of the student code of conduct."
The district says it’s working with Minisink to get to the bottom of what happened and come up with a resolution.
