Here’s what you need to know:

A HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK is in effect through this evening. Distant major Hurricane Gabrielle is bringing large waves and life-threatening rip currents to Brooklyn and Queens beaches today.
It's a mild, partly cloudy and calm start to the day. Temperatures are in the mid to upper 60s.
Today will feel like Summer. It's a warmer and humid day with a blend of sun and clouds. High temperatures will be in the low 80s.
A frontal system will bring a few showers and potential thundershowers this evening into Wednesday. The timing is likely after 7PM through 2AM. Severe weather or flooding is not expected. This front will stall to our South bringing a passing shower tomorrow afternoon. Most of the daylight hours on Wednesday should stay dry, but still warm and muggy. Stay tuned for updates!
A secondary storm system moves in Wednesday night through Friday bringing rounds of steady to moderate rain. There's an isolated risk for severe weather on Thursday. Thursday will be the wettest day this week. There's still some uncertainty on the exact timing and impacts. 1-2" of rainfall possible tonight through Saturday. Stay tuned for updates!

TRACKING THE TROPICS: Hurricane Gabrielle has rapidly intensified in the last 24 hours to a major category 4 hurricane east of Bermuda. It currently poses no direct threat to land, and it is forecast to weaken over the next few days as it moves east. There are two other areas of interest in the Atlantic that have a medium to high chance of developing in the next 24 to 72 hours. These tropical waves currently pose no direct threat to land but will bring some heavy rain and gusty winds to parts of the Leeward and Windward islands in the next day. We'll continue to monitor these storms to see if they pose any threat to the US by next week.
