Wappingers Falls police are seeking assistance for approximately 75 residents displaced by a weekend apartment fire at Brookside Garden Apartments.

The American Red Cross and Dutchess County Emergency Management have provided temporary housing and essentials.

The Police Benevolent Association is now accepting monetary donations for the affected families, including department store gift cards, food establishment gift certificates, Visa gift cards and cash.

All donations can be dropped off at the police department's communications window.

The police department clarified that they are not accepting clothing and household items. For those interested in making such donations, direct contact with a family is recommended.
