A Walden man pleaded guilty last week to a hit-and-run accident that killed a 21-year-old woman in 2022.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Logan Kelly is facing up to one to three years in prison under a negotiated sentence with the court.
Kelly killed Cristiana Kovacs, from Montgomery, and seriously injured her boyfriend. The couple were on an e-bike when they were struck from behind on Route 52 in Walden.
Kovac’s mother says losing Cristiana has sentenced her family to a lifetime of grief.
“There is no amount of time that the defendant will serve that can change that,” says Jeanette Kovacs. “However, with that being said, consequences for actions, accountability and justice must prevail in honor of Cristiana.”
Kelly will be sentenced August 22.
