Wake services were held Thursday for the 83-year-old woman who was found murdered in her North Salem estate.
A wake for Lois Colley was held at the Clark Funeral Home in Katonah. Her funeral will take place Friday morning at St. James Episcopal Church in North Salem.
The socialite and philanthropist was found dead in the laundry room of her 300-acre family estate on Titicus Road.
Investigators say Colley died from blunt force trauma, and believe she was murdered sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday.
Police say that there was no sign of forced entry, and the only thing missing from the home was a fire extinguisher. Authorities have not said if it is the murder weapon, but they have been searching for it and are asking for the public's help in finding the extinguisher.
A property caretaker discovered the body. Police say that person is not a suspect.
The family is well-known in the North Salem community. Colley's husband, Eugene, owns a string of McDonald's franchises. Police say he is not a suspect in the case, either.
Police have been speaking to family members, and so far, they are not saying if there are any suspects, or if they think Lois Colley knew her killer.
