Family and friends gathered at a Yonkers funeral home Wednesday to say goodbye to a Roosevelt High School student who was killed in a car crash on the Bronx River Parkway Saturday.
Mourners filled the Sinatra Funeral Home on Yonkers Avenue to comfort each other over the loss of 17-year-old Justin Vaque. The teen's father says at the time of the accident, his son was rushing to attend a bachelor party. Police say Vaque may have been speeding and talking on his cell phone when his car flipped over several times.
"He put a smile on everyone's face," says Vaque's friend Anthony Taylor. "We're going through some hard times right now, but we got to know he's in a better place right now."
Funeral services for Vaque will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Yonkers.
