Loved ones and the Middletown community are getting ready to say their final goodbyes to a beloved 18-year-old Middletown High School student who died in a car crash
earlier this month.
Tifuci-Cardo Caleb Reid, affectionately known as TC, passed away Nov. 4 during a single-car crash in the Town of Wallkill that also injured three of his passengers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 22 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home in Middletown on Railroad Avenue. Funeral services will be held the following day, on Saturday, at the Transformation Church on Blumel Road in Middletown at noon.
Reid was a senior at MHS and studied auto-mechanics at BOCES. Loved ones say he enjoyed helping others, had a passion for cars and was known as “Mr. Fix-It.”
“Despite his short time on earth, TC touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unconditional love,” according to his obituary. “TC was more than a son, a brother, and a friend— he was a beacon of light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and crossed paths. His smile was infectious, his loyalty unwavering, and his generosity endless. TC leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love.”
A GoFundMe to help the family pay for funeral expenses has raised $4,000 as of Wednesday morning.
In honor of TC’s life, loved ones ask the community to “strive to walk that extra mile for those in need, just as he always did.”
