Incumbent Council Member Inna Vernikov and former Council Member Ari Kagan will go head to head in the race for City Council District 48.

Kagan is hoping for a political comeback - this time in a different part of Brooklyn. He served in the City Council from 2022 to 2023 representing District 47.

Vernikov says that she will continue to advocate for the homeless, calling for more affordable housing instead of shelters.
