As residents are heading to the polls on Election Day 2023, here are some key races to watch in the Hudson Valley:
Yonkers Mayoral Race: Incumbent Mayor Mike Spano seeks an unprecedented fourth term. His opponents include Republican Anthony Merante and Working Families Party candidate Allison Abramson.
New Rochelle Mayoral Race: Democrat Yadira Ramos-Herbert aims to become the first person of color and woman to serve as mayor, facing off against Republican Louis Trangucci.
Clarkstown Town Supervisor Race: Incumbent Republican George Hoehmann, challenging term limits, is up against Democrat Justin Sweet.
Newburgh Mayoral Race: Incumbent Democratic Mayor Torrance Harvey defends his seat against Republican John Giudice and Independent Hael Stewart-Fisher.
Dutchess County Executive Race: With the seat vacant, Republican Sue Serino and Democrat Tommy Zurhellen vie for the position.
Harrison Mayoral Race: The race took an interesting turn with former Republican Mayor Ron Belmont launching a write-in campaign. Incumbent Republican Rich Dionisio and Democratic challenger Mark Jaffee are also contenders.
Rockland County DA's Race: Incumbent Thomas Walsh faces a write-in campaign by former Assistant D.A. Theresa DiFalco.
