Volunteers with a group called the Nyack Homeless Project gathered at Nyack College on Christmas Eve to spread joy to the needy.
Workers sorted through dozens of plastic bags filled with clothing, then repacked them for easier distribution to families. Other volunteers made sandwiches for the hungry.
Nyack High School senior and Nyack Homeless Project youth coordinator Tracy Ditirro says she wouldn't want to be anywhere else. "It just makes me feel good," Ditirro said. "This is my fifth year doing this and it's just nice to do something else at the holiday season."
The organization hopes to help about 4,000 families in Rockland, Westchester and Connecticut.
