New visitor restrictions are limiting the number and age of visitors at Nyack Hospital in order to stop the spread of the flu.
The limitations only allow two visitors at a time, and for all visiting to be at least 13 years old.
The New York Health Department says that in the first week of February over 200 New Yorkers were hospitalized for the flu, along with more than 1,000 total confirmed cases across the state.
The 77 percent increase from the previous week's numbers brought about the concern to start visitor restrictions.
Visitors are still allowed in Nyack Hospital, just as long as you are healthy, since newborns and the elderly are more susceptible to the flu.
Those visiting are also asked to wear masks upon entry.
