New Rochelle residents gathered Friday night for a vigil remembering a man who was fatally struck by a car.
Richard Mason, 57, was struck and killed by a car at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Pelham Road and Leland Avenue.
Residents say pedestrian safety is at an all-time low and are calling for action. Business owners on Pelham Road have started a petition for pedestrian rights.
No charges have been filed in the incident. A police investigation is ongoing.
