Over 200 veterans who fought in Vietnam and Korea received a special honor Thursday night in Rockland County.
State Sen. Bill Weber hosted his second annual Veteran Appreciation Dinner at Nyack Seaport as the county came together to honor the war heroes.
The motto for the night was "eat, drink and enjoy."
The brave men and women showed up to honor each other and trade war stories and to just be appreciated.
Weber said the goal of the evening was to celebrate veterans for what they sacrificed for freedom.
"We want to recognize not only the sacrifices that they and their family have made for us in our county here and their country, and just to have them here to have a great night, really laid back evening at a beautiful venue here," he said.
The Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge was also lit up in red, white and blue in honor of the veterans.
