A group of veterans is filing a lawsuit to try and save the New Rochelle Armory.
The current plan calls for the armory to be demolished and replaced with apartments and retail space.
The veterans say the city has allowed the 87-year-old building to fall into disrepair.
The lawsuit names the City of New Rochelle and a developer.
In a statement, the city says it does not comment on pending litigation, but to date the city and developer have indicated the armory will be preserved and/or adaptively reused.
Crews have been doing work at the Armory to remove debris, replace the roof, and stabilize the building.
The developer did not return a call for comment.
