Veterans replaced worn-out American flags Sunday on the graves of fellow vets who are laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and civilians joined the veterans in the patriotic display a day before Memorial Day. They said it was important to pass on their values to future generations.
Veterans said they hope this weekend is not just about barbecues and get-togethers.
"All the more important for us vets to remember our fallen comrades, whether they died peacefully or in combat," said veteran James Murphy.
