A veteran and his family now have a place to call home thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
Ivan Arroyo, a National Guard reservist, has served the nation for the past 18 years. He says it has been a lifelong dream to provide a home for his family. Arroyo lived in public housing his whole life.
That dream became a reality with the help of thousands of volunteers, including some students from the Horace Mann School.
Carolyn Arroyo, a mother of four, says she cannot believe that she is the owner of a new three-bedroom house.
Habitat for Humanity of Westchester CEO Jim Killoran says a letter written by Arroyo is what led to him getting the house.
