The sound of bagpipes filled the air as Bronx residents kicked off their annual Veterans Day Parade in Throgs Neck.
Veteran Frank Parisi was named the new grand marshal of the parade.
"Just to be a part of this community, to have grown up here and to be able to kind of pay it back by being a part of this ceremony is just an incredible experience for me," he says.
His family says they couldn't be happier to have him home.
The event not only honors the living, but those who have died in war.
