A parade was held in Suffern Tuesday morning to pay tribute to the local veterans.
Around 150 people turned out to watch the small parade of veterans, Scouts and others as they marched to Suffern's war memorial at the corner of Washington and Lafayette avenues.
Residents say they hope their children can develop an appreciation of what those who have served have done for the people.
The parade and ceremony are held every Veterans Day at 11 a.m. to mark the time when World War I ended in 1918.
