Leaking propane is suspected in an explosion that totaled a van and injured a plumber in Monsey yesterday.
Monsey fire offcials say the van belonging to B&H Plumbing & Heating exploded on the corner of Glenbrook Road and Moccasin Place.
One of the plumbers heard a hissing noise coming from the vehicle yesterday and was blasted by flames when he opened the door.
Authorities say it appears propane tanks in the van exploded, but they are still investigating. The truck was completely destroyed.
The plumber is recovering from burns.
