5h agoA 36-year-old Valley Cottage man was sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl, according to the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office.
Mauricio Sicha Torres pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse on Feb. 11.
The abuse occurred at a Clarkstown home from September 2023 to June 2024, involving multiple acts of sexual contact under the child’s clothing.
The victim disclosed the abuse to a family member in July 2024, who reported it to police.
Torres will face five years of post-release supervision and must register as a sex offender.
