The United States Justice Department on Tuesday awarded several Hudson Valley police departments $10 million in funding.

The Rockland Sheriff's Office, Westchester County police department and Putnam County Sheriff's department will get money.

The funding is attributed due to the hard work of the departments, along with Sen. Chuck Schumer calling on the feds to pay the departments the funds they were owed for their help in busting regional crime rings. The funding comes after four years of bureaucratic delays.

Departments in Yonkers, Orangetown, New Windsor and Woodbury will also be getting funds.

The funds range from $1.3 to $1.8 million.
