Sgt. John Butcher received commendations for his leadership in organizing training initiatives in his role as the supervisor for the county police marine unit.
The Coast Guard notes that Sgt. Butcher has planned and facilitated six exercises on the Hudson River and Long Island Sound over the past three years.
