Pseng is making sure they have everything ready to keep customers safe and warm. This winter and holiday season, we could see some wind and wet weather, Sunday. So Pseng has tips to avoid potential power outages by securing your own property. We want customers to take the time now to secure any loose items they may have outside of their home. It may be lawn furniture and it may be holiday decorations, right? Tis the season to put that Santa up on your roof or the inflatable in your yard. Um But if that wind picks up, that can be really hazardous and can actually cause power outages, Pseng says you should download the mobile app, sign up for text updates and always report an outage in your area. Scott is here to tell us who. Yeah, what do we need to prepare for? We need to prepare for rain, wind flooding, lots of stuff going on with the system Sunday afternoon and evening through early morning, Monday could even see some snow on the back end of that potentially Monday morning towards lunchtime. So definitely be on the look for that but the biggest threat, not just the winds but looking at flash flooding especially along and north of ice, 78 flash flooding possible. Most vulnerable spots underpass the small streams, roads ponding as well as drains, no real threat of coastal flooding with this. But still definitely got to be weather aware with what's going on as we are going to be seeing more of that rain beginning in the afternoon and evening. The heaviest is going to be nighttime into the morning. But then breezy weather will be with us drier conditions after 10 a.m. and maybe even a spot of snow possible. But we are looking at the beautiful weather today. Temperatures low to mid fifties, mostly sunny skies. If you have to do any traveling, any decorating, anything outside go today before the system from our West pushes on up and combines with the moisture going up the coast. So what are we looking at 1 to 2 inches of rain? Some spots could see more over towards the shore dull or water gap. And then we are looking at these gusts up to 10 to 25 MPH today and then into your Sunday gusts up to 30 to 40 MPH. So definitely be on the lookout for that Sunday into Monday as we are gonna be seeing different story today. And then Sunday is when we're gonna be seeing all that rain coming across the region from lunchtime into the afternoon and evening. So definitely be on the lookout with that gusty winds, thunder and lightning. And then my friends, some areas of heavy rain into Monday.

Welcome back. We're checking back in with storm watch team, meteorologist, Alex Calamia, Alex. You were actually saying today is gonna be a little warmer than the last few days. Yeah, it is 56. We love to see that and we've got the sunshine too at least early this morning, but the clouds will thicken a bit. So let's talk about that. Um We definitely are expecting fifties, which is beautiful all afternoon. Uh But then we've got to talk about the elephant in the room which is Sunday in the morning. This time tomorrow we have drizzle, very light winds. Not a big problem. As far as that goes early in the morning. Steady rain though develops throughout the later half of the afternoon. Dinner time could be a wash and the evening will also come with really gusty wind that could reach 40 MPH. So, so let's just take a screenshot of this. Just enjoy your Saturday. Enjoy even Sunday morning. We don't have any huge problems. Highs should reach Loga mid fifties because of that south breeze. Places like Marine Park, Coney Island rockaways. You're all looking a little bit cooler than just a little inland Bushwick in the mid fifties tonight, forties, a little bit of fog. It looks good though. We're dry for dinner time and we're dry even very early Sunday morning. But around this time tomorrow, we will see a few quick little spritzes and that will continue until lunch. So the first half of Sunday is not a total washout, but you should have the umbrella all day. Sunday. The wind is going to pick up and temperatures actually continue to climb after the sun sets. We probably don't hit 60 until 67 o'clock at night, which is just ridiculous. And obviously that does come with some problems because all of that air is literally fueling these storms. Now, we're not necessarily listening to thunder with this, but it will be lots of heavy rain, gusty wind through, I would say about dinner all the way to bedtime and even after midnight, look at some of this wind gusts at midnight. We're near 30 to 40 mile per hour. Gusts right along the Atlantic communities there. So Sheeps head bay could see 40 mile per hour gusts JFK. If you know anybody coming in from a flight, that's gonna be a problem Sunday evening, Monday morning commute. It is breezy but it is dry so no problems for a Monday morning commute. Latest model guidance showing possibly 2 to 3 inches of rain. I do think some of that's a little over exaggerated. Another model showing still two inches of rain. So definitely rain is the name of the game. We're gonna have plenty of it. And unfortunately, that could cause some localized flooding. It is dry though for the whole work week.

We're on storm watch for tomorrow, especially in the afternoon and the evening, we have two problems, heavy rain and gusty winds. There could be a few spots that briefly see 40 to 45 mile per hour winds which would bring the power out in a few neighborhoods mostly toward the lower Hudson Valley, Westchester County. That could be a problem and then also some localized flooding Sunday afternoon and especially in the overnight hours. So if you are planning on dinner time plans for Sunday, that will be a problem today, really pleasant at 10 o'clock or already close to 50 in Westchester County. And then we're in the mid fifties all afternoon. So it's actually a bit warmer than it was yesterday, but also a little bit on the cloudy side. If you have dinner plans at eight o'clock tonight, 36 in Newburgh, 3035 degrees in Middletown. So a little bit cool, but it warms up by Sunday morning. You're actually warmer in the morning time than you are in the evening tonight. We're expecting close to 40 for the upper Hudson Valley mid forties for the lower Hudson Valley temperature is definitely not the issue here. We will see some stray showers first thing in the morning tomorrow, but it becomes warm, widespread guaranteed in the afternoon. So you see that chance after brunch time really goes up quite a bit and there will be some heavy rain in the mix as well as well as wind. Now again, the wind is not a problem for the first half of Sunday, 2 p.m. Still not seeing any major wind, but there will be steady rain. Four o'clock, really steady rain here, it's a wash at this point, but the wind isn't a huge problem. 6 p.m. Winds starting to pick up a little bit. But look at this now, we're talking 20 to 30 mile per hour winds at nine o'clock. So some power outages are make sure you have a backup alarm clock. Sunday night for Monday mornings, wake up because look at the wind up to 30 MPH, that's kind of hard to sleep through. And although it's drying out on Monday with that wind shifting to the northwest, it is going to be still quite breezy on Monday. So a slight risk for scattered flash flooding. You're gonna want to watch out for underpasses roads, small streams and drains as well with all those leaves out there that could kind of clog up too. The rest of the week looks pretty quiet and dry. All right, Alex call me here to tell us today is the day to everything. Yeah, because of the rain coming later on in the weekend. Enjoy today. Absolutely. I mean, you see the radars clear today's 56 peaks of sun, definitely some generous cloud cover, but 60 on Sunday is not going to feel so good. It's a soaker. We've got a train of rain coming in from the Gulf of Mexico and that's going to bring in warm air. Yes, but it's gonna bring a lot of wind too. And so we have two threats, flooding and wind tomorrow today. Come on. This is fantastic. We're in the thirties now with a little bit of frost but mid forties by 9 a.m. we're hitting 50 way before brunch time and we're in the fifties all day Sunday morning. Little different feel it's warmer but it's cloudy with a stray shower at 9 a.m. A big rain risk for brunch lunch plans on Sunday afternoon. We may see a few soakers and then plenty of rain. 234 o'clock in the afternoon. Look at this just on and off downpours all day. The wind starts to pick up after sunset, seven o'clock at night, it's warmer than the afternoon because the wind is coming in straight from the south 40 mile per hour wind here, this is 11 o'clock at night. Probably the worst of the wind is going to be somewhere between eight o'clock at night. And about five o'clock in the morning, we could see some localized flooding because look at how much rain we end up with 2 to 3 inches across the island. And then also the possibility of some overnight power outages. So you'll want to be prepared for that, maybe strap those Christmas decorations down today.

As well. So what's the timeline looking? We're gonna be seeing that rain move in for the afternoon and evening, gusty winds as well as strong thunderstorms are possible overnight, Sunday into Monday. And then as we go into your afternoon on Monday, things are gonna be drier but still real breezy as well. So that's what we're looking at today. If you have to do anything outside is the day to do it. High temperature is going to be in the low fifties across Western Connecticut, mostly cloudy to partly sunny sky. So definitely, if you have to travel, do anything outside, definitely the day to do it is today because all this rain coming in from Ohio and West Virginia is gonna be pushing on into us here in Western Connecticut as we go into the rest of the weekend. So be prepared could see anywhere from 2 to 3 plus inches of rain across the region heavy at times as well with those gusty winds up to 30 to 50 MPH, especially along the coast. So today it is going to be nice. South temperatures are gonna be rising up into the fifties later on with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Then as we fast forward to the morning, more clouds and fog rain starts in the afternoon, heaviest from dinner time into the overnight hours. So we'll be keeping our eyes on that heavy rain lasting into Monday morning with highs today, around 50 degrees 60 on Sunday. And then we are going to be seeing those temperatures drop into the forties as we go into the rest of the week. That is a look at your hyper local forecast.
