Union workers at four Summit Health locations in Westchester held a gathering today called their "Day of Action" to ask for better working conditions.
Gatherings took place at locations in Purchase, Rye, Yonkers and White Plains.
Organizers said all of the participants are asking for the same thing-- better pay and better benefits.
They said conditions declined after Summit Health took over WestMed. They held the gatherings to ask for what they consider a fair first contract with their current employer.
A Summit Health spokesperson said the health care company is working the union and that pay is competitive.
