Police in Bedford were busy Friday responding to two accidents that occurred within an hour of each other near I-684.
According to police, a dump truck exiting northbound from I-684 was apparently cut off while turning onto Route 172 at around 9 a.m. The truck flipped over, spilling dirt across Route 172. But while town police and firefighters were waiting for a state police accident team to arrive, they were called to another incident at the southbound exit ramp. That accident was a minor fender bender, but one of the drivers was nine months pregnant and there was concern for her and her baby.
The woman was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, which is where the truck driver had been taken a short time earlier. The injuries in both incidents do not appear to be serious. State police are investigating both accidents.
