A trustee of the Village of Tuckahoe is eagerly awaiting the safe return of his family from Lebanon as violence intensifies there.
Tony Sayegh Jr.?s mother and sister are two of an estimated 25,000 Americans trapped in Lebanon. Sayegh wished them well Wednesday as they prepared to visit relatives in the heart of Beirut. Sayegh has been keeping in touch with his mother and sister daily via text messages and hopes the back-and-forth bombings between Israel and Lebanon stop.
While Sayegh says he wants to stay clear of the politics of war, he believes the United States should have a clear plan to evacuate Americans.
