History
was made Monday in Tuckahoe after the village sweared in its first female
and person of color to be mayor.
A ceremony
for Omayra Andino took place Monday.
Andino won
her first election to the village board in 2018, before shattering the glass
ceiling again earlier this year.
She is the
CEO of the Institutes of Applied Human Dynamics, a nonprofit that provides
assistance for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and
their families.
Andino
received her MBA from Nyack College.
