News 12 is the first to report that workers received a message from company officials earlier this morning to come back to the bargaining table.
Manhattan Beer Distributors is the largest beer distributor in New York State. The company has facilities located in Rockland County, New York City and Long Island.
They distribute popular beers such as Corona, Coors, Sam Adams, Modelo and more.
About 600 workers walked off the job at midnight Tuesday after weeks of contract negotiations broke down.
Workers tell News12 the sticking point is pensions.
According to the workers, company officials have been trying to get them to stop participating in their pension plan and replace it with a 401(k) or other retirement options. But the workers say they don't want to give up their pensions.
Workers also claim the company sidestepped union officials and went straight to the workers with the push to change, which they say is a violation of labor laws.
Manhattan Beer Distributor's CEO and founder Simon Bergson released a statement saying in part, "The company has made a compelling and attractive offer after several weeks of negotiations. Doors remain open as some union members have already chosen to come to work. We're working for a swift resolution and hope for minimal disruption of services."
