A large tree crashed through a home on Barrett Lane in Port Chester overnight Sunday.
Authorities say heavy winds caused the tree to snap at its base and slice through an upstairs room used by the homeowner as an office and gym. Officials say luckily no one was home at the time of the incident.
The Village of Port Chester Building Department has inspected the damage. There is no word yet as to whether the home has been declared structurally unsound.
