The treasurer of two nonprofit organizations in Garrison pleaded guilty to stealing a combined $212,000 from the companies he worked for, according to Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy.

Prosecutors say Mark Kenny, 62, stole the lump sum from Garrison Fish and Game Club and the Catfish Pond Association over a four-year period.

According to the DA's office, the investigation started in December 2024 when members of both organizations reported the suspected thefts to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and claimed Kenny was responsible.

Investigators found evidence to back these claims and took Kenny into custody.

Officials say Kenny was a Garrison resident but moved to Orange County after his arrest.

Kenny was indicted on second-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records charges.

He pleaded guilty to these charges on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Kenny's sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2027.
