A tractor-trailer snagged some low-hanging electrical wires on Central Avenue in Greenburgh and forced a section of the road to shut down Thursday.
Police say the truck tore down the wires while driving north around 8 a.m. For hours, drivers on Central Avenue near Underhill Road were diverted through an adjacent strip mall.
By the evening rush, only a single lane had reopened.
Utility crews spent the day making repairs on the pole and power line.
Officials say no one was hurt, but the downed lines caused problems for neighboring businesses.
Curry Acura had to turn away customers because most of the shop is computer-controlled, according to the service manager.
