The Town of Harrison and its fire department are facing a federal lawsuit alleging discrimination and sexual harassment.
The lawsuit was filed by the U.S. Justice Department.
It alleges the department discriminated and retaliated against firefighter Angela Bommarito, who joined the department in 2015.
The complaint says she was the subject of unwanted sexual advances and harassed by a senior male firefighter before she was terminated after she reported the harassment.
The town’s fire chief referred comment to the town supervisor, who has not returned News 12's requests for comment.
News 12 also reached out to Bommarito’s attorney, who had represented her in the past, but has not heard back.
