Two provisions were passed Wednesday night to a proposed law addressing leaf blower noise complaints in the Town of Greenburgh.
The Greenburgh public hearing passed the provisions amending the noise ordinance to gas-powered leaf blowers.
The proposed law now applies to commercial and residential properties.
One provision is that the simultaneous operation of more than one leaf blower on a 10,000-square-foot property or less is prohibited.
The second provision is that the simultaneous operation of four or more leaf blowers on any size parcel is prohibited.
Many residents spoke out against the legislation at the meeting.
The enforcement and penalties for obstructing the law will stay the same.
