A Yonkers woman woke up Tuesday morning to find that her car tires were stolen, and police say this isn't the first instance of theft in the area.
Katie Duffy says that when she went to leave for work, she saw her Honda CRV was on blocks and all four tires were gone. Duffy lives in the Valentine Garden Apartments and works in Manhattan.
Surveillance video captured the theft. At around 3 a.m., a suspect pulls up in a car next to Duffy's Honda. He appears to take off with at least one tire before returning to take the rest.
One resident of a nearby property tells News 12 that they had a similar incident happen to them about six months ago.
Police say tire thefts are a common occurrence, with at least one other incident reported in the city Monday night. They say that Hondas seem to be specifically targeted.
As for Duffy, she says she will purchase locks designed to prevent tire theft.
