Tim Cassidy
Tim Cassidy is a NY Emmy Award-winning reporter who has been covering Westchester and the Hudson Valley since 2005.
Cassidy was one of the first reporters hired when News 12 launched their Hudson Valley broadcast.
Cassidy won his first NY Emmy award in 2013 for his story about a young man who found peace from his battle with autism and depression through swimming. Cassidy is also the recent recipient of two New York State Associated Press Awards. He received First place for Best Spot News Coverage of the gunman who entered Orangetown's junior high school. The other, for Best News Special, "Your Money, Surviving the Crisis" Other awards include a 2009 NY Press Club Award, finalist for a prestigious NY Festival Award, and Videographer Award for his work "Letters to Sala". Cassidy has also won a Telly Award for his Feature Story, "Healing with Horses".
Cassidy began his career on air at WENY ABC in Elmira, NY then spent 2 years at WUHF, the Fox affiliate in Rochester NY. Cassidy also covered the Pocono's for 2 years while reporting for WBRE, the NBC affiliate in Wilkes-Barre PA. After college he was the assistant field operations manager at WNYW FOX 5 in NYC.
When Cassidy is not working you might find him on some of the Hudson Valley's best hiking trails with his golden retriever Jake.
