Well, the snow is done, but the cleanup is only starting now. Thanks for joining us. I'm Jen Selig. Now we're also dealing with some slippery roads out there. Let's get right to News 12's Lisa LaRocca. She's out in Thunderbill 12 this morning checking out all the roadways for us and aussining. Lisa, what's it like out there? Well, just take a look at the scenery. It's absolutely gorgeous. Look at how pretty that is. And the nice thing is this snow stopped somewhere around midnight, so it gave DBW crews plenty of time to get out there, clear roadways, and of course it's a holiday, so you don't have a lot of people on the roads as well. Here's the thing, it is awfully cold. The temperature gauge on Thunderbolts says 15 degrees where we are right now as we're driving. This is Route 17. and unfortunately it's only going to get worse during the week and Matt Hammer is going to be by to talk about that in just a bit, but all of this that you see will freeze, so that's something you have to think about be extra careful, but I mean the roads were the main roads were pretty clear. I drove into work at like 3:30, 4 o'clock this morning and I was on 287 sawmill and everything was black tops, so it's the side road. Your side streets might have some, you know, some slushy conditions or icy conditions here or there, but the main roads are looking good. So if you're worried about that, you're good to go. But just keep an eye out. Like I said, because it's so cold, there's a lot that can freeze up, so you have to be extra careful about that, and that unfortunately is something like we said we're going to be dealing with this whole week, so you're good to go on the roads, but bundle up.

News Twelve's Lisa LaRocca is out and about in Thunderbolt 12 this morning checking on those road conditions for us. Lisa, you're in Hastings now. How is it looking there? Yeah, right now, Jen, good morning to you. Good morning everyone. We're on uh Route 9 and not so bad, you know, we were on the main roads earlier, so we wanted to kind of get a look at what the side roads. And you can see, you know, they've done a great job with this. Luckily the snow stopped, you know, somewhere around midnight, one o'clock, so that's given them, uh, the DPW crews a good jump on this. Plus, of course, it's a holiday, which is also nice so you're not seeing any. The amount of cars on the roads were basically no one when I drove in this morning. My drive in, I did 287 to Sawmill River Parkway, had no problems at all. And when you go in, of course you still have to worry about the on and off ramps. They can freeze up faster than the main roads, and it is getting cold. What does it say? breeze on the temperature gauge here in Thunderbolt and so you know everything that's on the sides will certainly freeze up. So that's just something to keep in mind as you're driving. There's going to be black ice and unfortunately as the week goes on, it's just going to get worse. But if you are nervous about driving in snowy conditions, don't worry about. You should be fine. Just give yourself a little extra time. Watch for some for some slippery spots, but you should be OK. So we're going to continue to drive around for thunderbolt throughout the morning in just a bit. Don't go anywhere. Matt Hammer is going to be around to tell you all about this deep freeze that we're getting this week. So get ready to bundle up. Meantime, we'll keep you updated on the Thunderbolt.

Lisa LaRocca, she's out inside the boat 12 this morning checking on those road conditions, and Lisa, you're in Yonkers, right? How's it looking? We are, Jane. Good morning to you. Good morning, everyone. So right now we're heading down Executive Boulevard. It's a deep, uh, hill, so we just kind of wanted to test it out while we're on with you and not so bad. I mean, I have to say that my drive in this morning, wasn't all that bad. 287 pretty clear, sawmill not that bad, of course the good news is it's a. So you're not dealing with the usual amount of traffic. So if you if you have to be out on the roads this morning and you're a little bit nervous about driving in these kinds of conditions, you can relax a little bit because you won't have as many people driving around you as you normally would. So that being said, still be extra careful. There's certainly some slippery spots. Slushy areas depending on where you're going. Like I said, the main roads not so bad. Side roads can be a little more slushy, a little more, a bit of an issue. Watch for plows. I saw plenty of them outside so you don't try to go around them, let them do their thing, you know. Luckily this this snow stopped and gave them plenty of time to. Start working on the roads without people on them, so that's also a big plus as well. Now the big problem is that we are about to enter a deep freeze, so that could freeze up a lot of the stuff here. So that's certainly a concern. And so if you're thinking about, you know, make sure you get your driveways shoveled because those temperatures are going to drop and that stuff's going to be. For a while, but again, if you're heading out this morning and you can see not all that bad, so we're going to drive around throughout the morning. We'll keep you updated on the conditions and what we're seeing. Just take your time and you should be OK. Now to talk more about those deep freeze, we're going to talk with Matt Hammer a little bit later. He'll tell you more about what we can expect. We're in Thunderbolt right now.
