Some parts of the Hudson Valley are slated to get some snow Wednesday night.

This latest storm could put about a coating to an inch of snow on the ground.

While it may not seem like much, it could make the roads slick and icy overnight.

Resident Catherine Scarpati was heading into a grocery store in Yonkers on Wednesday night when she shared with News 12 crews how she was going to prepare for the storm.

"I'm gonna get me some hot chocolate, cuddle up with my puppy and watch a movie," Scarpati said.

Louis Tejeda also went to the store on Wednesday. He said he came to buy one thing, but added that he might need to stock up on extra supplies like "bread, eggs, milk" because of the storm.

Tejeda said he also might pick up some salt because the anticipated snowfall could be enough to make roadways slippery for drivers. Luckily, driver Frankie Montero said he's ready for whatever comes his way.

"I mean, I don't get snow tires, you gotta [sic] budget, but you know, you just have to make sure everything is taken care of and [you have a] full gas tank in case you get stuck," Tejeda said.

While Yonkers officials said they aren't doing anything specific to tackle this storm, their public works employees took part in a full-scale winter storm drill on Wednesday to prepare for any snowy or icy weather that may come our way this season.

"We don't want to be out there with 10 feet of snow, but listen if there is, we're prepared, and we can get the snow off the roads and the city can still run which is important and that's what we're here for," one worker said.

As Wednesday night rolls into Thursday morning, other people in Yonkers have their eyes on the morning commute.

"Yeah, the roads can get a little bad, but hopefully they aren't," said resident Lauren Finnegan.
