Thousands of people dressed as Santa Claus headed into New York City for the annual SantaCon festivities Saturday.
For the first time, organizers publicly released the planned route of the pub crawl through Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan bars.
It's also the first year Metro-North is banning alcohol on all trains during the event.
Organizers say they began coordinating with police a month prior to ensure a safe and smooth event.
Police are urging people to have fun but to take the no drinking policy seriously, because they will be patrolling and on the lookout for violators.
