Law enforcement announced another success in taking drugs and two handguns off the streets in Rockland County.
Carl Desir and Melissa Brown, from Congers, are both facing multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree.
Last week, search warrants were issued for homes in Congers and Nyack after a monthslong investigation.
Officials identified a Rockland man who was allegedly selling a large number of controlled substances throughout the county.
"The suspected drug dealer and an associate of his were taken into custody without incident," says Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh.
The multiagency bust recovered over 5 kilos of cocaine, marijuana and assorted THC edible products,  as well as two loaded guns, two boxes of ammo and over $23,000.
"Keeping our communities healthier and safer, this is not a war on drugs. This is a fight to save lives," said DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank A. Tarentino III.
Both emphasized how the collaborative work across agencies made this possible but said the fight is still not over.
"I have pledged to use every available resource to investigate and prosecute drug dealers selling poison to our children," said Walsh.

Desir and Brown are due back in court on Thursday.
