Service on Metro-North's New Haven Line is back on track after major delays overnight.

Commuters got home a bit later than they expected after their train got stuck on the tracks just south of the Woodlawn station in the Bronx for close to two and a half hours. The train had left Grand Central Station around 11:30 p.m. and was heading for Stamford when electrical problems with the third rail brought everything to a standstill.

Eventually a diesel engine was brought in and pushed the train into the station where passengers boarded another train to take them home. "The conductors did a good job of keeping us together; they gave us juice boxes filled with water," says rider Steve Jobs.

Metro-North officials tell News 12 that the third rail has been fixed, so this morning's commute on the New Haven Line was back on a normal schedule.
