A White Plains movie theater has hired another contractor to assess a reported infestation.
The City Center 15 Cinema de Lux was issued a summons by the city for a possible infestation of bugs and mice.
A spokesperson for the White Plains mayor's office says a code violation was issued to the 15-screen movie house on Mamaroneck Avenue this week by the city's Building Department. The spokesperson declined further comment, only saying that the city is working with property owner National Amusements.
The owner says it just hired a new outside contractor to re-examine the facility after another company found no infestation on Wednesday.
Although the theater maintains that there is no problem, the property owner has 30 days to prove there are no violations. If the situation isn't remedied, National Amusements could be slapped with another summons.
